MANIYAR DAM

                Maniyar is a small town in Pathanamthitta district, in Kerala state, India. Maniyar is located on the Pathanamthitta - Seethathodu Road. Geographically Maniyar is High-range area.
               Maniyar Dam is located near to the township -  Perunadu road (Via Makkumpuram). Maniyar Dam is operated by PIP (Pampa Irrugation Project). The main purpose of the dam is irrugation, also water from maniyar dam is used for electric power generation by Carborundum Universal Ltd (CUMI).. This plant has a capacity of 12 MW and extends employment to more than 40 people directly. Carborundum Universal Ltd(CUMI) is the first private hydroelectric power station in kerala.

                Both state run Kerala State Road Transport Corporation and privately operated buses connect Maniyar to Pathanamthitta CityManiyar is home to a wide range of birds and wild animals. Hornbills, the engendered birds, are widely seen in this area.

Rope Bridge - Maniyar Pathanamthitta

             Maniyar rope bridge constructed chiefly of rope. In its simplest form, it can be one or two ropes that bridge a river, Pedestrian used it to cross Maniyar river. Only 4 pedestrians are allowed at a time. Maniyar rope bridge located near Maniyar - Perunadu road (Via Makkumpuram), and which connecting two roads in opposite sides of Maniyar river.
