One of the famous temples of Lord Subrahmanya Swamy
in Kerala, Kodumthara Sri.Subrahmanya Swamy temple is situated at Kodumthara,
at about 2.5 Kilometres from Pathanamthitta town. The temple is famous for its
traditional architectural works with the typical construction of Vatta Sree
Kovil (Circular Sanctrorum) & the Conical Shaped roofing. Lord Subrahmany
Swamy is the chief deity Lord Siva, Ganapathy, Mahavishnu, Sree Krishna, Dharma
Shastha, Nagaraja, Nagayakshi & Maha Yakshi Amma are the sub-deities.
This temple is situated on the banks of the sacred
river, Achankovil Aaru, originating from Achenkovil at the Western Ghats. One
can have a picturesque view of the river, the banks of which are adorned with
lush green trees and ivy-mantled bushes bordering the river, in front of the
temple. The presence of this river rejuvenate the devotees who come from far
and wide to seek the blessings of Velayudha Swamy who abode here and safe guard
all .
